Please include your iOS version and iPhone model. petsum has no account system, so there is nothing you need to look up before writing.
Putting a photo on the Dynamic Island is free for the first five registrations, for the lifetime of the app. What counts is a *registration*, not a start:
After the five free registrations, one purchase unlocks unlimited registrations. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
With iCloud on, reinstalling the app does not restore free registrations; the count remains in your own iCloud so it also survives a new phone. With iCloud off, the count is kept only on the device and reinstalling starts with five free registrations again.
Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases. This asks Apple whether your Apple ID already owns the unlock. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used to buy it.
iOS ends Live Activities after eight hours. This is a system limit, not a bug. Starting again with the same photo does not use a free registration.
If your pet is not detected in a photo, you can still use the whole photo or pick a different one. Detection runs entirely on your iPhone.
To let your pet bring you photos, choose an album as the source in Settings. iOS asks for full photo library access because listing albums requires it; petsum reads only the album you selected.
iPhone with iOS 17 or later. The Dynamic Island presentation appears only on iPhone models that have one; on other iPhones the Lock Screen presentation is used.
petsum has no server and no account. Your photos never leave your iPhone. The privacy policy explains exactly what is stored and what is not.
